Jessica S. Bookman
PRACTICE
Jessica Bookman was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in 2003 and joined the litigation department of TGF in the summer of 2006, after articling and practicing with a large Toronto firm for four years. Ms. Bookman practices exclusively in the area of commercial and insolvency litigation, including contract disputes, fiduciary duties and creditors' rights.
PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT
Ms. Bookman is a member of the Advocates' Society, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association. She has co-written articles for the Ontario Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Seminars in matters relating to Rule 49 offers to settle and rights of set-off under the CCAA.
EDUCATION
Ms. Bookman obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen's University in English Language and Literature in 1998, a Master of Arts from University College London, UK in Anglo-American Literary Relations in 1999, and a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University in 2002. Ms. Bookman is a previous winner of the Justice Cory award for first place factum of the Gale Moot competition and the Robinson-Ryan Award for the graduating student who, through their continued interest and participation during law school, has most significantly contributed to the achievement and development of the goals of the Queen's Legal Aid clinic.
