Leanne M. Williams
PRACTICE
Leanne Williams was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in 1999, joined the insolvency department of Thornton Grout Finnigan in the summer of 2000, and joined the partnership in January of 2006. Ms. Williams practices exclusively in the area of insolvency and banking law, including workouts, refinancings, restructuring, bank litigation, receiverships, bankruptcies, mortgage remedies, lender liability, enforcement of security and rights between debtors and creditors generally.
PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT
Ms. Williams is a member of the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, INSOL International, the Turnaround Management Association - Toronto Chapter, Insolvency Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association, the Toronto Lawyers Association and the Canadian Bar Association. Ms. Williams has taught the Insolvency Law Section of the Bar Admission Course and has delivered presentations with respect to banking and insolvency matters.
EDUCATION
Ms. Williams obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario in 1994 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba in 1997.
