Kyla E.M. Mahar
PRACTICE
Kyla Mahar joined the insolvency group at TGF upon her call to the Bar of Ontario in 2001 and practices exclusively in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency, including corporate restructuring, refinancing, receiverships and enforcement of creditors’ rights and remedies.
PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT
Ms. Mahar is a member of the INSOL International, the Turnaround Management Association -Toronto Chapter, the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, the Insolvency Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the Toronto Metropolitan Lawyers Association.
EDUCATION
Ms. Mahar obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biochemistry from McMaster University in 1995 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor in 1999. Ms. Mahar was in the top 10 per cent of her class throughout law school and was awarded the Whiteside Award in recognition of her commitment to her peers, the law school and the community.
