Bio
Jake is a member of TGF’s Litigation team, with a practice focusing on complex commercial disputes including contract, shareholder, franchise, commercial leasing, real property, employment, and professional negligence matters.
Jake obtained his law degree from the University of Toronto and a B.A. (Hons.) from Queen’s University, where he majored in Political Studies. While in law school, he was an Associate Editor with the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review and was also active as a Peer Mentor, a volunteer with the Artists’ Legal Advice Services Clinic, and a member of the law school’s men’s hockey team.
Prior to joining TGF, Jake honed his litigation skills at other litigation firms, where he litigated complex, high-value commercial disputes and class actions.
Jake has worked on cases before Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice and Court of Appeal, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
In addition to his legal expertise, Jake is proficient in conversational Russian.
